He served 35 years at the Township Officials of Illinois, including 25 years as Executive Director/CEO, and 18 years as an elected member of the Macon County Board. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Millikin University.

County Clerk Candidate Bryan Smith was invited by Decatur City Councilwoman Consuelo Cruz to speak at the Eisenhower High School Civics Club. Also speaking was John Phillips, Jr., representing the Libertarian/Green Party. The kids had some really good questions and Smith was glad to be back at his Alma Mater, Class of 83.
