Bryan E. Smith is a lifelong Macon County, Illinois resident and candidate for Macon County Clerk. He began his public service career at age 19 when he was elected Long Creek Township Clerk in 1985 — the youngest elected township official in Illinois at the time. He served 35 years at the Township Officials of Illinois, including 25 years as Executive Director/CEO, and 18 years as an elected member of the Macon County Board. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Millikin University.

Smith Attends and Speaks at Carson's Free Summer Basketball Camp

County Clerk candidate Bryan Smith attended and spoke a few words of encouragement to participants at the Carson’s Free Summer Basketball Camp held on July 25 at Hess Park in Decatur. Decatur resident and Coach Calvin Carson has put on this free summer camp for youth for several years. This year was the highest attended camp in the history of holding it. Smith encouraged participants to be positive in every thing they say and do, especially when playing basketball. The morning rain stopped and the camp continued with everyone attending receiving a bright pink shirt.
