Bryan E. Smith is a lifelong Macon County, Illinois resident and candidate for Macon County Clerk. He began his public service career at age 19 when he was elected Long Creek Township Clerk in 1985 — the youngest elected township official in Illinois at the time. He served 35 years at the Township Officials of Illinois, including 25 years as Executive Director/CEO, and 18 years as an elected member of the Macon County Board. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Millikin University.

He has been directly involved in budgeting for the County Clerk's office and has trained officials across Illinois on government law compliance.

Macon County Democrats celebrated the holiday season December 15 th with a visit from Governor JB Pritzker.

Pritzker stopped by Del Carmen’s East Monday, December 15 th to talk with Precinct Committeepersons, elected officials, candidates, and friends of the Macon County Democratic Central Committee at their Christmas Party. A packed house welcomed Pritzker, State Representative Sue Scherer, 15 th Congressional District Candidate Kyle Nudo, and even Santa Claus! Pritzker thanked the group for their work and support of Democratic Candidates and issues. Other candidates attending were Macon County Clerk Candidate Bryan E. Smith and Macon County Board Candidates Stephanie King, District 1; AJ Hines, District 2; and Kasey Holt, District 5. The annual event is a thank you for all volunteers for their hard work, said County Chairman Bryan Smith.
