Bryan E. Smith is a lifelong Macon County, Illinois resident and candidate for Macon County Clerk. He began his public service career at age 19 when he was elected Long Creek Township Clerk in 1985 — the youngest elected township official in Illinois at the time. He served 35 years at the Township Officials of Illinois, including 25 years as Executive Director/CEO, and 18 years as an elected member of the Macon County Board. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Millikin University.

County Clerk Candidate Bryan Smith attended the first ever Senior Meetup event at the Decatur Public Library on August 12. Attendees were welcome to attend, visit with other attendees, play games and enjoy refreshments. Smith felt it was a great opportunity for folks to spend time together and to enjoy the company of others.
